As Most of you have noticed, Bootleg figures have become a big problem recently. Heck, My very first figure was a bootleg.
This needs to stop, and the only way this can happen is if people don’t buy bootlegs.
Some tips for Identifying Bootlegs
General-
-More than 30% below retail price. It is SO hard to make a profit with most figures if the figure is priced this low and real (Not to say that all figures below 30% are bootlegs.)
- material – Many times bootleggers can’t get the same kind of Material the original was made out of, so many times the material is shiny or the wrong shade..
-selling before the actual product is out- I think that’s self-explanitory
-different positions- Eyes facing wrong way, hand pointing wrong way, etc…
Nendoroids-
It is IMPOSSIBLE to sell a nendoroid for less than $20 and still make a profit (excluding petits)\
Sellers (Ebay)-
-use offical shots – be sure to ask the seller for pictures of the product, otherwise they just use “official shots”
-Has less than 98% seller feedback. even so, I personally wouldn’t go ordering without checking at 99.5% even more so if they’ve sold over 200 Items.
Please check feedback please though. I know a seller who sometimes got bad feedback on issues that Should have contected him first, and that severely hurt them.
-check for official sticker on the box!
-I (personally) always check if they say that they are selling authentics, because if they do, chances are better that they are than not. (I have yet to see a seller who says they sell authentic items but really doesn’t.)
